What does a concierge doctor do differently and should I have one?

As we shift our traditional gym business into a medical fitness facility with the addition of cardiac programs and concierge style services, this question has come up quite a few times. We work with a few of them and here’s what we know. Concierge doctors charge a flat fee and provide you with full time access and priority when booking appointments. The patient care is highly personalized and the doctors are able to collaborate on your behalf with other healthcare professionals to provide resources and referrals to specialists.

Do you need one? Great question. We believe that thinking outside the box of traditional care is always beneficial. The challenges of insurance, Medicare, copays, and the waiting game are exhausting, especially when you really need someone to listen, and problem solve with you. If you have the gift of time for a preventative annual checkup or a physical, traditional medicine is great. If you are looking for the best care, for ongoing health struggles or a response to a major medical concern, you want someone who has the time to sit with you until all questions are answered and then execute solutions. The power of personalized support after a major medical event is a gamechanger. You want the best wellness team you can assemble, and you deserve excellent care regardless of what is approved by your insurance. If you’re in a position to pay for that, why wouldn’t you do that or yourself and your family?
