what are cardiac prehab and rehab?

Cardiac Prehab is our exclusive program that follows similar guidelines used for people with cardiovascular disease and risk factors but want to prevent having a heart attack.

Cardiac Rehab is the nationally accepted standardized program of professionally guided and monitored exercise and consultation on the most influential factors that impact heart disease, including nutrition, stress management and smoking for patients recovering from heart events.

What will i experience in the Cardiac Programs?

 

As a client, you participate in exercise 2-3 days per week monitored by an EKG and an exercise physiologist, and you receive guidance on how your diet, stress, sleep, smoking* and daily decisions can be adjusted to support a healthier lifestyle for your heart. * if applicable

heather sholl

Heather Sholl is a social entrepreneur and founder of The Villages Gym. After graduating from Texas A&M, she began her career in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and facility manager in Hamilton, Texas. She teamed up with the owner and local healthcare leaders there to build a cardiac rehab program, and sold the fitness center to Hamilton Hospital, then relocated to Houston.

While building a clientele in Houston, Heather teamed up with friends to found the nationally recognized non-profit organization Boot Campaign. Boot Campaign funds the treatment of PTSD with a special focus on physical wellness that is unique to veteran services programs. Today, she is focused on merging the treatment side of healthcare with the prevention side of wellness at The Villages Gym by establishing concierge Cardiac Rehab and Prehab.

Jonathan Aliota, MD, FACC

Program Advisor

Dr. Aliota is an interventional cardiologist at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston, and the Department Head of Cardiology at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. Texas. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Texas Heart Institute at St. Lukeʼs Episcopal Hospital, where he served as chief fellow in both the general cardiology and interventional cardiology program. He completed his residency program at Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular diseases, and internal medicine and sees patients in the Memorial Houston, Memorial City and Katy area.
