I’m ready to focus on myself. Should I workout with someone to meet my goals or by myself?

You should find someone to workout with!! There are infinite studies on the benefits of exercising with another person or people. Studies reveal that spending time with other willing participants increases the likelihood that we will pick up healthy behaviors. It also shows that people who exercise with someone more fit than themselves, exercise at a higher intensity because it boosts motivation.

How do you find the right fit? First, find someone you like and trust. The gym can be an intimidating place where you feel vulnerable. Second, choose a person with similar goals. You don’t have to lift the same amount of weights or walk at the same treadmill speed but you want to be able to encourage one another to achieve the same things. Third, look for someone with more experience than you. People who are already in a routine can help you adhere to the program.

Seventy three percent of those New Year’s Resolution members will be gone by summer, and you don't want to be on that list! And finally, if you don't have someone but you’re ready to start, hire someone! Personal training can be expensive, but a trainer can meet with you a few times to teach you what to do. This is a great fit if you want to mind your budget, stay motivated and feel confident that you are doing the best form and program for your body on your own
